EagleFiler by C-Command Software

EagleFiler is a Mac based file management system allowing you to take advantage of Spotlight’s search engine as well as EagleFiler’s search engine. It maintains your files in a similar manner as the Mac OSX currently does, making the transition to and use of EagleFiler very easy. However, you can access your EF Libraries from any PC and IOS Device.
Interface: EF interface has a similar look and feel to that of the native Mail client on a Mac. You can have either a single streamlined window or multiple windows if you want.
Create Files: EF’s basic Note creator/editor is a Text document, either Plain or RTF. When you add images, audio or video to a Note, the Note is modified to a RFTD file. EF simply utilizes the Text Edit application on your Mac.
Import Files: Press the F1 Key to import. Import and view ANY kind of file such as, RTF, PDF, MS Office, Apple Documents, images, web archives, chats as well as proprietary formats via Quick Look plug-ins. Whatever document or window is “live” when you press the F1 Key, EF will import that document, automatically to the Library you specify or have open at the time.
Mail Integration: Open an email, click the F1 Key, and the email will import to the standard mbox format, preserving your email. It is designed to handle tons of emails efficiently. EF can import from a wide range of email applications.
Tags: Yes. The tagging system is similar to that of EN. Place any amount of tags you wish to any document, then search by tags, title of the documents, or by document contents.
Libraries: You can create as many Libraries as you wish. Consider a Library the same as a Notebook in EN. Use only one Library and use tags, or several libraries along with tags. You can drag-n-drop between libraries, rename files, create file links, etc. Create a link with text in one document linking to another document, either within EF or outside of EF.
EF uses an Open Format, allowing your other applications to have direct access to your files within EF. Duplicate files are skipped automatically.
Applescript Automation: Since EF uses the Open Format, integration of Applescript to automate processes is extremely simple!
Accessing EagleFiler on other devices: There are several ways of sharing an EF library among multiple Macs. Most of these techniques will also work for sharing your files with a Windows PC or IOS device.
Back-Up: Your EF libraries can be backed up with Time Machine as well as via Dropbox or Sugarsync. iCloud integration may be possible in the future.
This multi-page online help is a great resource tool for EagleFiler: c-command.com/eaglefiler/help/
Disclaimer: I only use EagleFiler and am in no way associated with C-Command or it’s developers. I have been using EF for approximately 4 weeks.
